The problem
The fixed price was never calculated for you.
It was calculated for the platform. Surge, service fee, priority fee — you pay it or you don't send the parcel. Velo turns that around: the rider who wants your job the most sets the price.
Fixed-price apps
- A price appears. You have no idea how it was built.
- Rain, rush hour, month-end: the number climbs.
- You get whichever rider the algorithm assigns.
- The rider takes what's left after the cut.
Velo
- You post the job with the price you think it's worth.
- Riders nearby bid — most of them under your number.
- You see each rider's rating, trips and ETA before choosing.
- The rider keeps what they bid, minus a flat 12% platform fee.
No surge. No priority tier. If nobody bids, you raise your offer or cancel — and pay nothing either way.
How it works
Three steps, and you're the one who chooses.
Post it, name your price
Pickup, drop-off, what's inside, and the number you're willing to pay. We show you what riders actually accepted on that route last week, so you're not guessing.
Riders bid against it
Verified riders within range see the job and send an offer. Bids arrive in about two minutes and stay open for ten. Most land under your number — the rest tell you your number was low.
You accept one. Then track it.
Price is locked the moment you accept — it cannot change en route. Follow the rider live, share the tracking link with whoever is receiving, and pay by card or cash on handover.
A real route
Yaba to Lekki Phase 1, small parcel, Tuesday afternoon.
Illustrative route based on accepted-bid ranges in Lagos. Your bids depend on distance, time of day and how many riders are free.
You saved
₦950
30% off the fixed quote — and the rider still cleared more than a platform-assigned trip pays.
For riders
Nobody assigns you a rate. You bid it.
See the job, the distance and the customer's offer before you commit. Bid what the trip is worth to you — traffic, fuel, whether it's on your way home. Flat 12% fee, no commission tiers, no acceptance-rate punishment for skipping a job.

Questions people actually ask
It expires after ten minutes and we tell you the likely reason — usually the offer sits below what riders accepted on that route, or it's a dead hour. Raise your price and repost in one tap. You are never charged for a job that got no bids.
